Terry O'Donoghue, began his career in the Petrochemical industry with a Degree in Chemical Engineering. He went on to complete further Graduate Diplomas in Building Surveying and Fire Safety Engineering, finishing with a Masters in Civil Engineering making him one of Australia's leading experts across multiple disciplines.

Buildcheck has been providing Engineering Consultancy and Project Management Services for nearly 30 years across Victoria, Queensland & New South Wales. Buildcheck specialises in maintenance specifications, regulatory advice, and project management for Strata / Owners Corporations.

Paulo Silveira

Paulo is an experienced Building Consultant Engineer who was invited to re-join Buildcheck in 2020, after working in Sydney as Team Head, leading a team of remedial engineers specialised in delivering projects of a remedial/structural nature.

Paulo has a demonstrated history of working in the remedial engineering industry where he has been exposed to both design and the on site practical implementation of remedial engineering solutions. Prior to his transition to building consultancy, Paulo worked on new construction sites and remedial projects in South-East Queensland including large-scale façade refurbishment of high-rises.

The merge of on-site practical experience with office-based engineering experience provides him with a comprehensive understanding of structures and the logistics involved in a building project.

Clinton Elridge

Architect Remedial 

M.Arch B.Env.Des. ARBV. RBP, DB-U

Clinton is an experienced remedial architect and registered domestic builder who was invited to join Buildcheck after previously running his own residential design and construction firm and working as a site and construction manager for a remedial building company.

Clinton has documented, tendered and project managed several complex remedial works, and his on-site experience is invaluable in assessing contract claims, variations and the completion of works against contract documentation.

Over his many years of experience in architecture and construction, he has developed an extensive knowledge of the National Construction Code, and many of its referenced standards, and has produced a number of VCAT expert witness reports for clients.

Within the Buildcheck office, he specialises in water ingress, cladding replacement and complex lightweight framing and carpentry works.

Leon Steel 

Senior Building Consultant 

BTech (Build Surv), GCert (PBBFS), RBP, MAIBS

Leon is an experienced senior consultant, specialising in forensic investigation, defect and building order/notice resolution, protection works and essential services. Leon has strong project and contract management experience, to complement his technical knowledge and skills.

Prior to joining Buildcheck in 1998, Leon was a Technical Advisor and Auditor, working on large-scale residential and commercial assets in the mining towns of Western Australia.

Leon also held a senior position for over 10 years as a Building Surveyor & Inspector, he gained significant working knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for the building industry. He has worked on a range of assets including industrial facilities, schools, hospitals, health and aged care sites, as well as retail offices and storefronts, being involved in the end-to-end building process from feasibility, to the issuance of Permits, Notices, Orders, through to Occupancy Permits.

Leon is a self-driven individual. He deals comfortably with new concepts and complexity and adapts quickly to changing environments, he is a creative problem solver and conflict manager.

Sean Convey

Senior Building Consultant 

DipBuildConst (Building Inspection)

Sean is an experienced Building Consultant who joined Buildcheck in 1993 part-time whilst working as a residential apartment Building Manager for Kingston Apartments 461 St Kilda Road Melbourne. In February 1996 Sean commenced full-time employment with Buildcheck in the Melbourne Head Office with frequent forays to our Gold Coast office over the next two decades.

Sean is our Senior Building Consultant Technician has conducted thousands of inspections in Melbourne and on the Gold Coast, Brisbane and beyond,  be they existing building condition reports, scopes of work or project management.

His special competencies are Forensic Inspection, Remedial Building Inspection, Project Management, Building Consultancy and Building contract Preparation and Administration.
